Religious Pluralism and Israel — Current Challenges and Successes

In this class, we will explore the inspiring new creative opportunities for learning, worship and spiritual growth for secular and non-Orthodox Jews in Israel. We will also discuss some of the current challenges to religious pluralism, including the misuse of power by the Chief Rabbinate, the pledge for egalitarian prayer at the Western Wall, problems with divorce law and women’s equality, and more. The class will be marked by lively discussion and an opportunity to learn about exciting new spiritual developments in Israel.
